On Wednesday, Lahore Qalandars will take on Multan Sultans in match 7 of the ongoing Pakistan Super League. Led by Shaheen Afridi, the Qalandars got a disastrous start to the season, losing the first two games convincingly. So, this game holds significant importance for them, as they are desperate for a win to get the momentum on their side.
After losing the first game by eight wickets against Islamabad, the Qalandars suffered a five-wicket defeat against Quetta Gladiators.
Although the batters have done their job perfectly, the bowlers have managed only seven wickets across both games. Ace pacer Haris Rauf has been a major disappointment for them, scalping only a solitary wicket for 85 runs in only seven overs.
However, considering his reputation, Rauf will likely get another chance as the Qalandars gear up for a victory in this outing.
Among others, Sahibzada Farhan and Fakhar Zaman will open the batting, with Rassie van der Dussen, Abdullah Shafique, Jahandad Khan and Sikandar Raza slotted at the middle order.
Prominent all-rounder David Wiese might come in place of Carlos Brathwaite, who was off colour in the last game. Shaheen Afridi, Zaman Khan and Haris Rauf will lead the pace attack, with Salman Fayyaz playing as the wrist spinner.
