Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has returned to the gym to “rebuild” himself after being ruled out of the upcoming 2025 ICC Champions Trophy in the UAE. The senior speedster sustained back spasms last month during the final Test of India’s five-match tour of Australia.

Yet to recover from his injury, Bumrah missed the entirety of India’s white-ball series against England at home, before getting ruled out of India’s Champions Trophy squad, prompting the selection committee to announce Harshit Rana as his replacement instead.

On Thursday, February 13, i.e., a couple of days after being officially ruled out of India’s 2025 ICC Champions Trophy squad, Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has made his return to gym in a bid to attain full recovery prior to the IPL 2025 season from March.

Sharing a picture of himself on his Instagram account, Bumrah also dropped a one-word caption that reads:

“Rebuilding”

Jasprit Bumrah delivered a ‘Player of the Series’ performance in Australia earlier this year by picking up 32 wickets in just five Test matches before opting himself out of the second half of the series-decider at the SCG.

While the 31-year-old has now been ruled out of international action at least until the conclusion of the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy in the UAE, he is still slated to reprise his role for the Mumbai Indians franchise in the upcoming IPL 2025 season. He was retained by the franchise prior to the IPL 2025 mega auction last year.

The IPL 2025 season is expected to launch from the second half of March, i.e., shortly after the conclusion of the Champions Trophy.
