In a significant development, experienced Indian wicketkeeper-batter Jitesh Sharma is set to play for Baroda in the upcoming domestic season. The seasoned campaigner has apparently shifted bases from Vidarbha, joining his Royal Challengers Bengaluru teammate Krunal Pandya in the Baroda camp.

Krunal Pandya Influenced Jitesh Sharma's Big Career Move

Swashbuckling keeper-batter Jitesh Sharma played a pivotal role for Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the IPL 2025. Besides powering RCB to the title in the competition, Jitesh also facilitated his transfer from Vidarbha through IPL teammate Krunal Pandya, who leads Baroda in the domestic circuit.

According to ESPNCricinfo, Krunal Pandya's influence is a major factor behind Jitesh's formal transfer from Vidarbha to Baroda. It's worth mentioning that Jitesh could've made the bold move of leaving Vidarbha after warming the bench throughout the 2024-25 season, with the team preferring Akshay Wadkar over him.

Despite making his debut way back in the 2015-16 season, Jitesh has managed only 18 red-ball games, amassing 661 runs at an average of 24.48. So, his bold move of switching to Baroda could enable him to feature in more First-Class matches.

Talking about his overall career, Jitesh has played 56 List-A and 141 T20 matches as well, scoring 4419 runs in white-ball cricket. He enjoyed stellar success in the IPL 2025, amassing 261 runs, including a blistering fifty, at an average of 37.29 and a strike rate of 176.35.

Swapnil Singh To Leave Uttarakhand And Join Tripura

Meanwhile, Jitesh Sharma's IPL teammate and RCB's RTMed player, Swapnil Singh, has decided to leave Uttarakhand and join Tripura ahead of the upcoming domestic season.

The left-arm spinner, who didn't get a game for RCB this season, looked sublime in the domestics. Overall, he bagged 18 wickets across five matches for Uttarakhand, showcasing his bowling prowess in the Ranji Trophy.
