RCB Star Bhuvneshwar Kumar Equals R Ashwin In Elite T20 Wicket-Taking List

The newest star of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been on a sensational run in the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT). The Uttar Pradesh (UP) captain has led from the front and was instrumental in their win Vs Andhra at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.

In the pre-quarter finals, he dismissed the in-form batter, KS Bharat, and continued a brilliant game by dismissing T Vijay in the 18th over as Andhra could only post 156-6. The target was achieved with utmost ease as UP dismantled the opposition and a lot of the credit went to Bhuvneshwar's brilliance.

After taking the second wicket, Bhuvneshwar's T20 wicket tally reached 310 wickets and is now at par with R Ashwin, who also has the same number of wickets.

Most T20 Wickets for India

The India and Punjab Kings leg-spinner, Yuzvendra Chahal leads the list with 364 wickets to his name. Followed by another spinner Piyush Chawla with 319 and R Ashwin with 310 wickets. Bhuvi is joined third in the list and he is followed by India's spearhead, Jasprit Bumrah, who already has 295 wickets and boasts the best average and economy rate.

Bhuvneshwar has scalped 310 wickets at an average of 24.81 and an economy of just 72.6, which is considered to be brilliant.

RCB drafted him in mega auction

RCB were smart during the mega auction as they spent 10.75 crore to acquire Bhuvi's services for the next season. The premium Indian bowler, who last played for SRH will solve RCB's death bowling issues.

Moreover, he can bowl at any phase of the match which makes him a valuable asset for the Royal Challengers.
