A deal has been reached by Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) to exchange players Mayank Dagar and Shahbaz Ahmed ahead of the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). This deal has been finalised, as reported by Cricbuzz; the formal announcement is just around the corner.

Dagar was signed by SRH for Rs 1.8 crore last year, whereas Shahbaz was purchased by RCB for Rs 2.4 crore during the 2022 auction.

Dagar failed to make much of an impact last season for SRH, having had three opportunities in total. Similarly, Shahbaz, who has been a regular for RCB for some time, was not at his best last season in any of his 10 appearances.

Since Shahbaz and Dagar both have slow left-arm bowling as their main skill, this trade is nearly a like-for-like one for both teams. However, Shahbaz can contribute more value given his batting potential.

November 26 is the trade window closure date. Thus, before entering the bidding wars, each franchise are working on their last homework assignment, with the auction to be held in Dubai on December 19.
