Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have dethroned Chennai Super Kings (CSK) as the IPL’s most-followed franchise on Instagram, amassing 17.8 million followers, surpassing CSK’s 17.7 million.

Mumbai Indians (16.2M) remain third. The milestone coincides with RCB’s flawless start to IPL 2025, securing two dominant wins, including a historic 50-run victory over CSK in Chennai, their first at the venue since 2008.

RCB Dominates Both On Social Media And On-Field

Led by Rajat Patidar, RCB’s resurgence has reignited hopes of ending their 16-year title drought. The three-time finalists (2009, 2011, 2016), long branded cricket’s “nearly-men,” appear poised to rewrite history with their current campaign.

RCB’s seven-wicket triumph over Kolkata Knight Riders and their emphatic defeat of CSK have solidified their top spot on the points table. Fans and analysts alike are buzzing about the team’s balanced squad and aggressive brand of cricket, fuelling the belief that this could finally be their year.

Kohli & Co's Resurgence

Meanwhile, not only the franchise but its talisman batter Virat Kohli has also found his form in the season as he bagged a 59 and a 31 in his matches against KKR and CSK.

The franchise’s social media ascendancy mirrors its on-field dominance, showcasing its massive global fanbase. As RCB continues its quest for a maiden IPL title, the blend of stellar performances and unwavering fan support sets the stage for a potentially iconic season.

RCB would like to continue the winning streak as they face Gujarat Titans next on April 2. They will be playing their first home game of the season at Chinnaswamy Stadium as Gujarat Titans come off fresh after their win against Mumbai Indians.
