In the big update coming from the Chennai Super Kings camp, Ravindra Jadeja is unlikely to be released by the franchise before the upcoming season. The news comes after CSK-Jadeja's fallout went public a few months ago during the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League.

Being the senior-most player of the side after MS Dhoni, Jadeja was handed the captaincy duties after the long-time skipper decided to pass on the baton to prepare a new one under his guidance.

The idea behind appointing Jadeja as skipper was to ensure that the prime all-rounder gets sufficient experience under his belt before Dhoni decides to hang up his boots. However, things went into turmoil when his CSK lost 6 out of 8 matches and were almost out of the qualification scenario.

MS was instantly reinstated as captain and Jadeja's sacking meant that the relations between him and the franchise soured. Later, he suffered a rib injury and was ruled out for the entirety of the tournament to undergo rehabilitation.

Following his departure, he hasn't been in touch with the franchise and was even tracked deleting social media posts relating to CSK from his accounts.

It was further revealed that MS Dhoni is keen to continue with Jadeja, considering player of his calibre is extremely hard to replace. Axar Patel's name came for discussion but was found no match with the skill set that the Saurashtra born possesses.

It will be interesting to see how the franchise ends their bad blood with the player and come to a mutual agreement before the next season.

Big releases on the cards

Meanwhile, CSK's big overseas recruits Adam Milne and Chris Jordan look all set to be freed by the Chennai-based side, The main reason being Milne was ruled out after the very first game due to an injury and Jordan went for runs during the crucial stages of the game.
