Australia's T20 World Cup campaign has received a major blow as skipper Aaron Finch has been ruled out of the game against Afghanistan after sustaining a hamstring injury. Wicket-keeper Matthew Wade has been assigned the captaincy duties for this match.

Tim David too has dropped for this clash due to an existing injury for which he was under the cloud before this game. In their place of Finch and David, all-rounder Cameron Green and Steve Smith have been drafted in the playing XI.

During the toss, stand-in skipper Wade mentioned the incident and said,

"Obviously, Finchy is out due to injury, and Tim David and Starc are out as well. Kane Richardson, Cameron Green and Steven Smith come in."

There were speculations over unavailability of Marcus Stoinis too but timely recovery meant he will play a full part in this match.

Australia after losing the toss were asked to bat first in Adelaide where they will be requiring a massive win to get past England on Net Run Rate basis.
