Flamboyant India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, on Tuesday (August 30) addressed the media ahead of team's second clash in the ongoing Asia Cup 2022 against Hong Kong.

Team India made a winning start to their Asia Cup 2022 campaign as they annihilated the arch-rivals Pakistan by five wickets in their opening fixture on Sunday (August 28) at the Dubai International Stadium.

Also, it was the first time in team India's T20I history that all the ten wickets against Pakistan were taken by pacers. Often regarded as swing king – Bhuvneshwar Kumar wrecked the Pakistan batting line up having picked up four wickets.

Hardik Pandya grabbed up three wickets while Arshdeep Singh got two and Avesh Khan claimed one. Weighing in on the same, Jadeja claimed that pacers might have got all the wickets against Pakistan but that doesn't change the fact that spinners bowled really well.

Backing his statement, the Southpaw added that T20 is a format full of uncertainties and anything can happen in it, and rightly so. The course of the game can change within a span of a few deliveries in Twenty20.

“Spinners have also contributed. However, occasionally it happens that you bowl well but do not get wickets but fast bowlers do not bowl that well and they end up getting wickets. So the T20 format is like that only. The pacers get wickets on a full toss sometimes. So it keeps happening."

"Everyone bowled exceptionally well and pacers gave us wickets when we needed them. Hardik Pandya gave us breakthroughs, then Bhuvneshwar took two in an over.”

We will not take them lightly: Jadeja on Hong Kong

Jadeja, further speaking on their forthcoming Asia Cup 2022 fixture against Hong Kong said that they are not going to take them lightly and will play against them with a positive mindset.

The Gujarat-born played a pivotal role in India's hard-earned victory over Pakistan with a flamboyant knock of 35 off 29 balls. The Southpaw was promoted to the number four spot in the batting line-up to tackle the left-arm spinner Mohammad Nawaz and leg-spinner Shadab Khan.

The cricket world has witnessed Ravindra Jadeja's evolution as a batter across formats, and it seems that the star all-rounder is in full mood to shut his batting critics by delivering with both bat and ball in the ongoing multi-national tournament.
