Rajasthan Royals Set To Offer Star Batter Jos Buttler Four-Year IPL Deal: Reports

In what could change the landscape of Indian Premier League (IPL) and T20 cricket, the Rajasthan Royals (RR) is set to offer England's white-ball skipper Jos Buttler a four-year deal. With several T20 leagues rising, and demands for international cricket ever-increasing, franchises are looking into newer avenues to comply star players to participate.

As reported in The Telegraph, the offer is yet to be tabled in front of Buttler, and it is still unclear if the wicket-keeper batter is interested in such a contract. The ICC T20 World Cup 2022-winning captain has been tremendous for the Royals having struck five centuries and 18 half-centuries in just 71 matches, amassing 2,696 runs.

Overall, in 96 IPL matches, the 32-year-old has scored 3,223 runs at a strike rate of 148. Interestingly, Buttler also represents other Royals-owned franchises like Paarl Royals in SA20 League and Barbados Royals in Caribbean Premier League.

Earlier, England pacer Jofra Archer was reported to have been offered a long-term contract from the Mumbai Indians franchise.

Other England players like Sam Curran, Liam Livingstone, and Jason Roy are likely to be offered such deals.

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) is finding ways to control it players from taking multi-year deals and continue to give preference to national duties.
