Rahul Dravid has been in the limelight after the T20 World Cup-winning coach was appointed as the head coach for Rajasthan Royals. He has a significant history with the team, he was associated with the team as a player and then he continued his role as a mentor and now he will serve as the head coach for the upcoming IPL. 

After his appointment, according to several reports, he is set to bring several significant changes to the team. The former Indian cricketer will likely bring familiar faces to Rajasthan Royals from his coaching stint with the India team. 

Rahul Dravid To Bring In Fresh Faces To RR

In the latest development, according to the reports of CricbuzzRahul Dravid's first choice is Vikram Rathour, India's former batting coach who will likely be included in Royals for the upcoming edition of the cash-rich league. Rathour is expected to replace Trevor Penney, who could take up a new role with the Barbados Royals (Caribbean Premier League) team. 

Another significant change that can be expected is Paras Mhambrey, India's former bowling coach, who is also expected to join the franchise, but it is important to note that nothing seems to have been finalised so far.

In the same reports, it is mentioned that both Rathour and Paras have prioritised and preferred coaching roles and have declined the offer for commentary for the upcoming IPL. 

Rahul Dravid's Tenure With Rajasthan Royals

Rajasthan Royals have played a vital role in nurturing and giving a new dimension to Rahul Dravid's career. In 2011, when RCB decided to part ways with the legendary batter, Rajasthan Royals made an interesting choice and brought Dravid to their team. 

Things changed from there on and it was a new beginning for the former Indian cricketer. He had a great time with the franchise and played a crucial role as a player, he scored 1276 runs in 46 matches that he has played for them. 

After his role as a player ended, he joined the team as a mentor and now as he has been appointed as the head coach it will be interesting to see how the team performs under his tenure and what major changes can be expected under his leadership and guidance.
