In what could be an absolute shocker, South Africa's T20I skipper Temba Bavuma went unsold in the recently concluded mega auction of SA20. Most of his colleagues, Rassie van der Dussen, Rilee Rossouw, Reeza Hendricks and Tristan Stubbs etc., grabbed crazy deals, while Bavuma couldn't seal a place for himself in any team.

The experienced batter has admitted to being disappointed in not being a part of the lucrative league. However, he has also backed his teammates to have impressive stints with their respective teams.

Here's what Bavuma said

"I certainly was expecting to play a role in the tournament. From my side, there are definitely feelings of disappointment and also feelings of almost being let down in a way,"

"The guys in the team, our friendship, our relationship goes far beyond just being team-mates. The guys just being there in terms of their presence for me has been enough. I don't expect words of sympathy or anything like that."

Bavuma, who has scored 562 runs in 24 T20I outings, also reverberated his goal to make South Africa reach new heights during his captaincy tenure. The Cape Town-born sounded pretty mature in his views as he laid emphasis on South Africa's upcoming India series and the T20 World Cup amidst such personal crisis.
