Former Indian cricketer, Virender Sehwag, hailed as one of the most exceptional openers in cricket history, enthralled the audience with his breath-taking performances across various formats during his illustrious career.

Virender Sehwag delights fans by sharing photo of his bats from memorable knocks

Revered for his explosive batting style and aggressive approach, Sehwag played numerous sensational knocks during his playing days and scored a plethora of records.

Taking a walk down memory lane in a post on his official Instagram handle on Thursday, the 44-year-old cricketing legend shared a photograph that evoked a sense of nostalgia among fans worldwide.

The image showcased the very bats that were wielded by Sehwag during some of his most memorable and awe-inspiring innings. Each bat depicted in the photograph represented a significant milestone in the maverick opener's career.

Among the cherished pieces of willow displayed, Sehwag showcased the bat that accompanied him during his first triple century, a 309-run knock achieved against Pakistan in 2004 in Multan. Another bat highlighted in the photograph served as a tribute to his second triple century, an astonishing 319 runs against South Africa in 2008 in Chennai.

Additionally, the collection featured the bat employed by Sehwag to fashion his maiden double century in One Day Internationals (ODIs), a swashbuckling 219 against West Indies in 2011 in Indore.

The ‘Nawab of Najafgarh's’ admirable bat collection extended to his first century in the Indian Premier League (IPL), a blazing knock of 119 runs against the Deccan Chargers in 2011 in Hyderabad. The photograph also had the willow from his unforgettable double hundred against Pakistan in Lahore in 2006 where he scored 254 off just 247 balls.

However, Sehwag expressed regret as he revealed that the cherished willow, which witnessed his near-historic feat of 293 against Sri Lanka in 2009 in Mumbai, had unfortunately gone astray, leaving a void in his treasure trove of cherished cricketing mementos. Had Sehwag scored the triple ton, he would have become the first cricketer to score three triple centuries but he was dismissed by the great Muttiah Muralitharan.

Meanwhile, as Sehwag shared this poignant glimpse into his cricketing legacy, fans and admirers alike dived deep into nostalgia and lauded the celebrated cricketer for his glorious career.
