Two arch-rivals, Australia and England, will cross swords against each other in the first ODI of the three-match series in Adelaide.

England are coming on the back of a triumphant T20 World Cup campaign, and therefore, they will be high on confidence. Although they couldn't celebrate their World Cup win due to the hectic schedule, English skipper Jos Buttler has reverberated that they will compete with full intensity against their arch-rivals in the series.

On the other hand, Australia had a dismal World Cup campaign and are undergoing a transition. It will be the first assignment of the newly appointed skipper Pat Cummins, and Travis Head will be tested at the top. Additionally, it will be an extremely important series for the two stalwarts, David Warner and Steven Smith, who have recently blown hot and cold in white-ball cricket this year.

Match Details

Date and Time: November 17, 8.50 AM IST
Venue: Adelaide Oval, Adelaide
Live Streaming: Sony Sports Network and Sony LIV App

Pitch Report: The surface of Adelaide Oval is regarded as one of the flattest in Australia. So, the track will be conducive for batting, having occasional grip for the spinners. The square boundaries are smaller, so the bowlers will have to force the batters to play straight. As the surface won't change its behaviour with time, the toss-winner will likely opt to field first.
