PSL 2022: All-round show hands Quetta Gladiators comprehensive win over Karachi Kings

Quetta Gladiators rode on an emphatic all-around show to clinch a comprehensive 8-wicket win against Karachi Kings in Karachi. Chasing a small total of 114 runs in 20 overs, the Gladiators had a perfect start after openers Ahsan Ali and Will Smeed put up a partnership of 76 runs for the first wicket. 

The Kings then managed to pick up a couple of wickets in quick succession but that was certainly not enough as the Gladiators went over the line quite comfortably in the 16th over. Ahsan remained unbeaten at 57 off 43. 

Earlier, in the day, Naseem Shah rattled the Karachi Kings batting unit with a five-wicket haul as the side was bowled out for 113. 

The team was left tottering at 69/7 but it was Aamer Yamin (20 off 10) and Imad Wasim (26 off 22) that helped them put some runs on the score sheet. Captain Babar Azam top-scored with 32 off 29. 

On the other side, Naseem returned with figures of 5/20 in 3.3 overs. 

"The credit for today's win goes to our bowlers. Naseem was outstanding. I just asked my speedsters to use their pace. He (Hasnain) had a great domestic season and I'm happy that he's taking advantage of the opportunity here," Sarafraz Ahmed said after the match.
