According to emerging reports, Prithvi Shaw and Musheer Khan are set to be questioned for their involvement in a controversial fight during the recent red-ball practice match between Mumbai and Maharashtra. As reported by Mid-day, the cricketers will undergo an investigation jointly carried out by the Mumbai and Maharashtra Cricket Associations.
Mumbai and Maharashtra cricketing bodies to probe into Shaw-Musheer saga
Despite being talented, Prithvi Shaw's brief career has been marred by several major controversies. The swashbuckling right-handed batter, who was accused of molesting social media influencer Sapna Gill, lost his cool and got involved in a fiery exchange with his former Mumbai teammate Musheer Khan. As several reports suggest, Shaw raised his bat and grabbed Musheer by his collar after the latter teased him with a cheeky one-liner following his dismissal in the match.
Although Maharashtra captain Ankit Bawne stated that things were back to normal between the two players, Shaw and Musheer are set to undergo a serious probe, which will be conducted jointly by the Mumbai and Maharashtra Cricket Associations.
As Mid-day reported, both cricketing bodies have come together to condemn the incident and will question their respective players as to what made them behave the way they did during the match.
“There will be a [Mumbai Ranji team] selection committee meeting on Thursday, so we will ask them about what happened. We will be getting a report during our selection committee meeting, and Dilip Vengsarkar, who is our Advisor, will speak to the players," Mumbai Cricket Association secretary Abhay Hadap was quoted as saying by Mid-day.
On the other hand, the Maharashtra Cricket Association's secretary, Adv. Kamlesh Pisal revealed that the board will speak to Shaw and Musheer after receiving a detailed report regarding the incident.
