On May 3, two heavyweights Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bengaluru will lock horns at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. The teams have arrived at the venue, in what guarantees to be a spectacular event. Meanwhile, a report suggest that RCB opener Phil Salt is unlikely to play against the Men in Yellow as a recent training session has hinted at his exclusion.

Notably, in RCB's last IPL 2025 match against Delhi Capitals at home, Salt was left out of the playing XI as he developed a fever. England star Jacob Bethell replaced Salt and couldn't impress the critics as he returned to the pavilion with a low score of 12 (6).

In the latest events, Kaushik R from Cricbuzz reported that RCB mentor Dinesh Karthik engaged in batting drills with Bethell and not Salt, hinting at Bethell continuing to open with Virat Kohli. It is unknown whether Salt is still recovering or including Bethell would be a tactical change.

Phil Salt's Absence A Sign Of Concern For RCB

Phil Salt has been crucial for RCB in this season as the Englishman has set the perfect platform at the start of the innings, which allow rest of the batters to put big scores on the board. Talking about Salt's performance in the ongoing season, then the RCB star has scored 239 runs in nine innings, averaging 26.56, which includes two fifty-plus scores.

Talking about the upcoming clash, the fans have started to turn up in thousands at the Chinnaswamy Stadium and the viewers can expect a sea of red and yellow.
