In a recent news, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi hosted a special lunch to honour the relentless efforts of over 1,500 labourers who played a crucial role in completing the renovation of Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium. This event took place just days before the much-anticipated Pakistan,New Zealand and South Africa tri-series and Champions Trophy 2025.
The Gaddafi Stadium, which had been under scrutiny due to concerns about its condition, has now been successfully completed. The stadiums has improved it's seating capacity, modern hospitality boxes, upgraded floodlights, electronic scoreboards, and cutting-edge LED towers.
Mohsin Naqvi's Kind Gesture For Workers
Mohsin Naqvi personally visited the workers and shared a meal with them, and even expressed his appreciation for their dedication. During the event, the PCB Chairman went beyond formalities, interacting with the workers, taking selfies, and engaging in heartfelt conversations.
"You are the heroes of the nation and deserve all the congratulations," said Naqvi to express his admiration for the workers and valued their dedication
In a particularly touching moment, Naqvi extended a special invitation to all the workers to attend the upcoming Pakistan and New Zealand match. This announcement was met with applause, as the workers, who had spent months for the renovation, would now get to enjoy the upcoming match.
Gaddafi Stadium Ready For International Action
With the successful completion of the renovation, Gaddafi Stadium is now officially ready to host international cricket, including the Champions Trophy, which is schedule to start on February 19, 2025.
Ahead of the mega tournament, the venue will also host the much-awaited Tri-nation series, the first match of the series will be played at between Pakistan and New Zealand at Gaddafi Stadium.
