Champions Trophy 2025 is less than a month away. The preparations are in full swing for the tournament that returns after a long hiatus of 8 years. Pakistan will host the tournament, but the PCB is sweating hard as the stadiums look far from ready for the prestigious event.
Notably, PCB has spent nearly 12 Billion PKR for the renovation of three stadiums- Karachi, Rawalpindi, and Lahore. However, the latest visuals from the stadium don't show a promising sign, as it looks like a lot of work is left for it to host matches.
The PCB is confident that the stadiums would be ready in time, but the constructor at the time refuted the confidence and claimed that it looks impossible for the PCB to deliver a high-quality experience or ICC-approved standards at these three venues.
“Look, the stadiums will be in a shape to host matches, but the question is the PCB has promised everyone a world-class experience at these renovated venues for the Tri-series and Champions Trophy, and whether they can deliver on that promise remains to be seen," news agency PTI quoted a source, who is following the construction work, said.
Further, the supervisor also blamed the PCB and said that the dues weren't released on time and equipment too weren't given on time. “These are the kind of things we are dealing with, but sometimes it’s sad to see people bashing us," Chohan complained.
Pakistan Yet To Submit Squad For Champions Trophy 2025
It is worth noting that Pakistan are yet to submit their squad for Champions Trophy and are the only team to not have submitted their squad. It is reported that the PCB is waiting for an update on Saim Ayub's injury and whether the southpaw can be fit in time for the prestigious event.
