In an incredible turn of events, Pakistan Board has rejected claims that Pakistan are planning to play their World Cup 2023 games out of India. Some reports started gaining a lot of attention few days back that Pakistan are thinking about not playing their World Cup matches in India as BCCI is reluctant to send Indian team over to Pakistan for the Asia Cup.

However, PCB has clarified their official stance now with a statement that there has been on discussion on Pakistan's venue for the World Cup in ICC forums. The PCB, however, mentioned that the proposal to play India matches at a neutral venue in the upcoming Asia Cup is under discussions within the ACC.

Here is what PCB said in the official statement:

"This Proposal - to play India's matches at a neutral venue and the rest in Pakistan - is under discussions within the ACC. At no stage during Thursday's media interaction, did I give any reference to the ICC or made any remarks on the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2023, which is scheduled in October. The matter has not been mooted or discussed at any ICC forum so far,"

PCB has also said that there are disappointed with a leading English newspaper for misquoting and misrepresenting Mr. Najam Sethi, the chairman of PCB. PCB clarified that at this point in time, they are only in discussions with the ACC over the Asia Cup scheduled to be held before the World Cup.

"In this background, the PCB is disappointed that a leading English language newspaper has misquoted, misinterpreted and misrrepresented Mr Sethi's comments and gave the impression that PCB's hybrid model was presented and discussed at the ICC, which is factually incorrect. At this stage, the PCB is only in discussions with the ACC over the hosting of the ACC Asia Cup and no discussions regarding the World Cup have taken place in the ICC,"

PCB, however, did not deny the possibility of a hybrid model being discussed for the World Cup 2023 in future.

"This is not to say that the hybrid model will not be advocated at the proper ICC forum at the right time."

The BCCI and PCB has been in tussle for sometime now as BCCI has made it clear right from the start that India would not be travelling to Pakistan for the Asia Cup 2023. Let's see how the BCCI-PCB saga unfolds...
