On Friday, Cricket Australia confirmed the hosts' squad for the upcoming pink-ball Test against England at the Gabba in Brisbane. Despite returning to Australia's training session and bowling a number of spells, experienced fast bowler Pat Cummins misses out on selection for the second consecutive time in the Ashes 2025-26.
As revealed by Cricket.com.au, Cummins has been given an additional period of two weeks to complete his rehabilitation from a lumbar back stress which sidelined him from the Ashes opener at Perth.
However, Usman Khawaja, who couldn't bat in the second innings of the Perth Test due to a back spasm, has been named in the side.
