[Watch] Pat Cummins Announces Cricket Australia’s New Broadcasting Deal in India

Cricket Australia has entered a new broadcasting deal with Disney Star, thus taking over from Sony Sports to showcase live matches in India and the subcontinent.

The Disney Star, who have distributed Australian matches in India before, signed a seven-year deal which will conclude in 2030. The network made the announcement through Australian captain Pat Cummins by sharing the latter’s short video of acknowledgment across their social media platforms.


Pat Cummins welcomes Disney Star on behalf of CA

Pat Cummins expressed his excitement of Cricket Australia’s new deal with Disney Star through a short video. The post was uploaded on Twitter by the network, where the Australian captain can be heard saying that they are looking forward to bringing Australia’s cricketing action in as many Indian screens as possible. He said:

“Good day to the whole Disney Star team. Pat Cummins here. Welcome back to the CA family, its great to have you back. We’re so excited to work together for the next seven years to bring Australian cricket to many screens in India and the subcontinent. Both the men’s and women’s teams are in a great spot at the moment, we can’t wait to do truly great things together to take it to the next level. Thanks in advance for all your support. To the Disney Star team, thanks again. Can’t wait to see what the future holds together. Cheers.”

The deal ensures that Disney Star will broadcast Australian men’s, women’s and Big Bash League matches played out in Australia across Indian markets, which also happens to be one of the largest sports market in the world.
