The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 is still far away, but trade rumours have already begun as the mini auction approaches. While Sanju Samson has hogged the limelight for his reported move to the Chennai Super Kings, but as of late, another trade news is gaining interest amongst the cricket fans - Kuldeep Yadav to Sunrisers Hyderabad.

SRH are in desperate need of a spinner, and according to reports by News24, the Pat Cummins-led side has set their sights on Delhi Capitals spinner Kuldeep Yadav. The reports stated that the SRH captain personally reached out to the spinner last season about a possible move to the Orange Army.

Last season, SRH’s biggest weakness was their spin department, and ahead of the 2026 season, the franchise is aiming to bolster it as they eye the IPL title.

Will Kuldeep be a good fit for SRH?

For starters, SRH had two spinners in their ranks last season - Rahul Chahar and Zeeshan Ansari. While Ansari was their breakout star, Chahar struggled for wickets as the team lacked a genuine match-winner in the spin department, and Kuldeep’s potential arrival will solve their biggest issue.

Wicket-taking bowler: Kuldeep is a genuine wicket-taking bowler and he will be a constant problem for the opposition batters as the wily spinner has a knack of picking wickets at regular intervals. Last season, he picked up 15 wickets, and prior to that, he grabbed 16 for the Capitals.

Experience: The 30-year-old is an experienced spinner, having been playing in the IPL since the 2016 season. He has ample experience in the league, and this was something the SRH side lacked last season, as Ansari, despite being good, lacked the experience at the biggest stage.

Hence, if Cummins and SRH go after Kuldeep, it would solve their biggest headache ahead of the next season.
