On Saturday, April 5, Pakistan locked horns against New Zealand in the 3rd and final ODI of the ongoing series. The Kiwis registered a 43-run win to stun the Men in Green and whitewash the tour.

It has been an embarrassing tour for the Men in Green as they faced a second-string New Zealand side and yet failed to register a single win. Notably, all the marquee Kiwi stars are in India for the ongoing IPL season.

Power-Cut In New Zealand Sends Internet Into Frenzy

Despite all the embarrassment going Pakistan's way, the New Zealand Cricket Board too hogged the limelight for an electric failure at the Bay Oval. Notably, the incident occurred in the 39th over of the match when Ben Duffey was almost about to bowl the delivery, which is when the floodlights went off and there was pitch darkness on the ground.

The lights were off for nearly a minute and it could have turned into a disastrous incident had Duffey released the ball and hit the batter. Nonetheless, there was no injury and the play resumed after a short delay.

India-Australia BGT too marred with Power-Cuts

Power cuts in stadiums aren't common in cricket, but in the past few months, it has been a common practice. A couple of months ago, a similar issue occurred in Odisha, India, where one of the floodlights went off and the play was halted for nearly half an hour.

Further, when India and Australia locked horns against each other in a day/night match where the play was halted twice because of such power-cuts.
