In a significant development, LSG captain Rishabh Pant has been found guilty of maintaining a slow over-rate against Mumbai Indians on Friday, April 4. The IPL has slapped Pant with a 12 Lakh rupee fine as it was his first offence of the season.

It was a nail-biting thriller as the match went down to the last over, which is why the proceedings were slowed down to think and plan each delivery. Eventually, LSG registered a 12 run win, but Pant would have to shed 12 lakh rupees out of his match fees. Although, it is worth noting that Rishabh won't miss LSG's upcoming clash against KKR as IPL have removed the ban on captains' for slow-over rate.

LSG Spinner In Huge Trouble

Further, LSG spinner Digvesh Singh too has been found guilty of breaching IPL's code of conduct for the 2nd time in the season and this time he has been asked to pay 50% of his match fees.

Notably, Digvesh's action came under the radar during his side's clash against PBKS, where he gave a 'notebook' send-off to Priyansh Arya that didn't go well with the fans and cricket pundits. As a result, Digvesh was fined 25% of his match fees. However, he repeated the same celebration following Naman Dhir's wicket and now has to pay 50% of his match fees.

Three Captains Have Faced Fine In IPL 2025

Rishabh is not the first captain of IPL 2025 to have been reprimanded by the IPL to maintain a slow over-rate. Further, Hardik Pandya and Riyan Parag too have faced the same fate in previous games.
