New Zealand completed a dominant 3-0 whitewash over Pakistan in the ODI series with a 43-run win in the third and final match at Bay Oval. The Kiwis delivered a clinical performance with both bat and ball, exposing Pakistan’s inconsistency throughout the series.

The game which was a pride saviour for Pakistan was also dashed with probably the slowest intent during the chase of the at-par total set by New Zealand.

Pakistan's Shameful Whitewash In New Zealand After 3rd ODI Loss

Batting first, New Zealand posted a competitive 264/8 in 42 overs. Michael Bracewell led the charge with a blazing 59 off 40 balls, including six towering sixes. Rhys Mariu (58) and Daryl Mitchell (43) also made key contributions. Akif Javed was the pick of the bowlers for Pakistan, finishing with figures of 4/62, while Naseem Shah took two wickets but proved expensive.

Pakistan’s chase never gained momentum. Despite Babar Azam scoring a half-century (50 off 58) and Mohammad Rizwan’s 37 off 32 balls, regular wickets derailed the innings. 

Ben Sears was outstanding with the ball, picking up 5 wickets for just 34 runs in his nine overs. Pakistan were bowled out for 221 in 40 overs, falling short by 43 runs and handing New Zealand a series sweep.

Pakistan Need To Regroup ASAP!

The result marked a complete ODI series whitewash for Pakistan, raising serious questions over their form and squad composition.  With back-to-back collapses and minimal resistance from both the top and middle order, Pakistan ended the series winless despite playing against a comparatively inexperienced New Zealand side.
