Pakistan cricket players have not received their monthly salaries from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for the last five months, as per latest reports. Earlier this year, several of their first-choice players had signed their central contracts with the cricket board.

Notably, in the last five months, the Pakistan team has made several trips to Sri Lanka and have been engaged in some high-octane cricketing action through the 2023 Asia Cup and the ongoing 2023 World Cup in India.

PCB yet to pay players salaries for five months

A month prior to the 2023 World Cup, the PCB had announced a three-year men’s central contract list.

The board added 25 cricketers across four different categories, which included several of their World Cup 2023 stars.

Shaheen Afridi, Mohammad Rizwan and Pakistan captain Babar Azam were rewarded Grade A central contracts, while fellow first-choice players like Naseem Shah, Imam-ul-Haq, Shadab Khan, Haris Rauf and Fakhar Zaman were among the batch that featured in the ‘B’ category.

Regardless of the categorization, recent reports have revealed that none of the Pakistan cricketers have received their dues from the PCB for the past five months.

A batch of 15 elite Pakistan players, led by Babar Azam, are currently in India for the 2023 World Cup. A month prior to the cricketing carnival, the ‘Men in Green’ players travelled to Sri Lanka for the 2023 Asia Cup, which was preceded by a short white-ball series against Afghanistan in the island nation.
