Pakistan are all set to play a three-match T20I series against South Africa, and for the first game, PCB has announced a special plan. The PCB and the Pakistan cricket team will observe Breast Cancer Awareness Day during the first T20I in Rawalpindi.

Thus, the Pakistan cricket team will wear a special pink kit in place of their traditional green attire. Over the years, Cricket South Africa has also observed Breast Cancer Day, where the Proteas wear a Pink jersey. Australia also support breast cancer awareness by playing a Pink Test at the SCG every year.

Thus, PCB has taken a progressive decision to spread awareness among the people of Pakistan and would also reflect well on the profile of the cricket board, which has been under a lot of criticism in recent times.

Pakistan-South Africa eye fine-tuning ahead of T20 World Cup 2026

The first T20I will be played on October 28, and Pakistan has made a big change by bringing in Babar Azam in the shortest format. It is their first T20I assignment after losing to India in the Asia Cup final, and they would be itching to put up a strong performance.

The pressure, though, would be on the captain, Salman Ali Agha, to deliver. He has not been able to live upto the billing with the bat, and would like to make the pink day special at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

South Africa, on the other hand, are struggling with injuries and the unavailability of key players. David Miller, who was set to lead the Proteas in the T20I series, has been ruled out due to injury, and now Donovan Ferreira will captain them. Gerald Coetzee has also been ruled out, and it is a good chance for South Africa to try out their new players with the T20 World Cup 2026 around the corner.
