In a significant development, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), on Thursday, announced Pakistan's squad for the upcoming under-19 World Cup edition. Farhan Yousaf, who is currently leading the Pakistani side in the under-19 Asia Cup, has been retained as the skipper for the World Cup.
Pakistan retain u19 Asia Cup core for 2026 World Cup
This morning, the PCB unveiled a set of Pakistan's promising players for the upcoming under-19 World Cup. The Men in Green have retained all of their key players from the ongoing U19 Asia Cup tournament except Mohammad Huzaifa, who has been replaced by right-arm fast bowler Umar Zaib in the setup.
While Farhan Yousaf has been named as the captain, Usman Khan will play as his deputy in the under-19 World Cup. Among others, Sameer Minhas, who recently hammered a blistering 77-run knock against Malaysia U19, will spearhead the Pakistani batting with Ahmed Hussain, Usman, Ali Hassan Baloch, and captain Yousaf.
Meanwhile, Ali Raza will lead the pace attack with Mohammad Sayyam, with Abdul Subhan, Daniyal Khan, and Huzaifa Ahsan filling the remaining slots.
Hamza Zahoor and Mohammad Shayan have been picked as the wicket-keepers. At the same time, Abdul Qadir, Farhanullah, Hassan Khan, Ibtisam Azhar, and Mohammad Huzaifa have been included as the non-travelling reserves.
