In a recent news, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced change in the venue for the upcoming tri-nation ODI series, featuring Pakistan, New Zealand, and South Africa. The series, originally set to take place in Multan, will now be hosted at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore and the National Bank Stadium in Karachi.

However, it is important to mention that, the decision comes as the PCB continues to work on significant upgrades to these two venues. These improvements are part of Pakistan’s preparations to host the Champions Trophy 2025. The main reason that the board might have opted for venue change would be to showcase the enhanced facilities in the tri-nation series.

The board has further added that despite rumours circulating about potential delays in the stadium renovations, the PCB has reassured stakeholders that there is no race against time. The facilities will be in top condition well before the mega-competition.

"Further details regarding the series will be shared in due course. In a regular update, the PCB assured the fans, spectators and media that all upgradation work was progressing on schedule and will be completed before or around the set deadlines."

Both the Gaddafi Stadium and the National Stadium are currently undergoing extensive upgrades and renovation work. As a consequence, neither stadium will be able to host any of the seven Test matches scheduled for this year.
