In recent developments, following a crucial assembly in Bali, Indonesia, the decision has been made to entrust the presidency of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) to Pakistan in 2025.
At the forefront of the delegation from Pakistan were Acting Chairman Shah Khawar and Chief Election Commissioner, accompanied by Chief Operating Officer (COO) Salman Naseer.
According to several reports, Khawar consistently raised objections throughout the meeting. Additionally, Shami Silva, the President of Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC), proposed extending Jay Shah's presidency at the ACC for another year.
Notably, the decision has been made that starting from January 2025, a representative from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will assume the presidency of the ACC for a fresh two-year term.
As a PCB representative gears up to assume the presidency in 2025, there have been reports that Jay Shah, the current ACC president, will continue to lead for an additional year.
The ACC chair usually goes around members of ACC and Sri Lanka and Bangladesh were due to get the presidency. However, with a nod from Sri Lanka Cricket and the board giving up their spot for another year, Jay Shah is staying put.
