As per emerging reports, India are all set to announce a relatively inexperienced squad for the upcoming T20I series against Zimbabwe. The five-match T20I series between India and Zimbabwe will be held next month, with all games scheduled in Harare.

Meanwhile, as reported by InsideSport, the BCCI selection committee will likely rest most of the senior players who are currently featuring in the T20 World Cup in the Caribbean and United States.

As a result, an inexperienced side comprising youngsters might travel to Zimbabwe, with veterans like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma missing out.

Also, given their proneness to injury, Hardik Pandya and Jasprit Bumrah will also be excluded owing to workload management. Meanwhile, on Rishabh Pant's participation, a BCCI official said,

"Whether Rishabh will play in Zimbabwe will depend on his condition. Even though he was out for so long, he has been playing constant cricket since IPL."

The absence of senior players will pave the way for the IPL graduates who have been knocking at the doors for quite a while now.

Ruturaj Gaikwad, who leads Chennai Super Kings in the IPL, is the front-runner to captain the Indian side in Zimbabwe, while Abhishek Sharma, Nitish Reddy, Harshit Rana, Mayank Yadav, Riyan Parag and Khaleel Ahmed are expected to be rewarded for their impressive run in the IPL 2024.

Among the familiar faces, Sanju Samson, Rinku Singh, Avesh Khan, Yuzvendra Chahal and Ravi Bishnoi could make it into the final fifteen.
