Ravichandran Ashwin, the popular Chennai Super Kings (CSK) all-rounder, has decided not to post anything related to CSK on his YouTube channel for the rest of IPL 2025. This move comes after a recent controversy.
R Ashwin Will Not Cover CSK Matches on His YouTube Channel
R Ashwin’s channel recently faced backlash from CSK fans. Even though Ashwin plays for CSK, some fans were unhappy with the way things were discussed on his show. The issue started when one of his regular guests, Prasanna Agoram, made some strong comments after CSK lost their third home match in a row; this time against Delhi Capitals at Chepauk Stadium.
Prasanna, who has previously worked as a data analyst for South Africa and Royal Challengers Bengaluru, questioned CSK’s decision to pick Afghan spinner Noor Ahmad in the playing XI. He felt that with senior players like Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja available, Noor’s selection didn’t make sense. His comments didn’t sit well with fans, and many started criticizing the show online.
In response to the backlash, Ashwin’s channel put out a public note. It clarified that the opinions shared on the show are those of the guests, not Ashwin himself. To avoid more misunderstandings, the channel also announced it won’t be covering CSK matches for the rest of the season.
“Given the way discussions have been interpreted recently, we’ve decided to stop covering CSK games for the rest of the season. We respect different opinions on our platform but want to keep things fair and clear, ” the note read.
CSK’s Poor Form in IPL 2025
While all this is happening off the field, things aren’t going well for CSK on the field either. After starting the season with a win, CSK has now lost three matches in a row; against Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Delhi Capitals, and Rajasthan Royals.
Their next game is against Punjab Kings on April 8 at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in New Chandigarh.
