The International Cricket Council has unveiled player of the month nominees for June in Men's and Women's categories. The men's list contains one player each from Australia, Sri Lanka, and Zimbabwe, while the women's one has one apiece from Australia, England, and West Indies.

ICC player of the month nominees for June

Men's category: Sean Williams, Wanindu Hasaranga and Travis Head

Women's category: Ashleigh Gardner, Tammy Beaumont and Hayley Matthews

Travis Head

Australia's middle-order batter Travis Head had a dream run in June, first hitting a match-winning century against India in the WTC final and then a crucial 50 in the first Ashes Test at Edgbaston.

Head slammed 163 off 174 balls at The Oval after coming in when Australia were reeling on 76 for three on Day 1 of the WTC Final, laying down the foundation for victory.

Sean Williams

Sean Williams starred for Zimbabwe in the ongoing ICC World Cup Qualifiers, slamming 600 runs with three ODI centuries.

He started the tournament with an unbeaten 102 against Nepal and went on to register two blistering knocks of 174 and 142 runs in successive matches against USA and Oman, respectively.

Wanindu Hasaranga

Sri Lankan all-rounder Hasaranga is enjoying a stellar CWC Qualifier 2023, having claimed 20 wickets already. Hasaranga became only the second bowler in ODI to pick three consecutive five-wicket hauls after Pakistan's Waqar Younis.

The all-rounder's performance enabled Sri Lanka a qualification spot in CWC 2023 main draw, which will happen in India in October-November.

Ashleigh Gardner

One of the most consistent performers, Australia's Ashleigh Gardner has become a household name. A two-time player of the month awardee, Gardner hit form in the one-off Women's Ashes Test, which Australia won by 89 runs.

The all-rounder scored crucial 40 runs, helping her side reach 473. However, Gardner's bowling in the second innings blew hosts England away, as she claimed an 8-for.

Tammy Beaumont

ICC's Women's T20I cricketer of 2021, Beaumont, displayed her class against Australia in the only women's Ashes Test, which sadly England lost.

The 32-year-old struck a memorable 208 in the first innings, also the maiden double hundred for an English women's player. Beaumont's knock included 27 fours, which saw England just ten runs shy of Australia's first-innings score.

Hayley Matthews

Matthews has been the lynchpin for West Indies in their batting in white-ball cricket. Matthews, 25, is already the third-highest run-getter and wicket-taker in ODIs and T20Is, respectively, for West Indies.

In the recently concluded three-match ODI series against Ireland Women, Matthews scored 113 runs, which included a 106-ball 109, her fourth 50-overs ton.

She also starred with the ball in the first ODI, claiming three crucial wickets, helping her side to victory.
