The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has officially announced a 15-member squad for the upcoming T20I series against Bangladesh, which will take place later this month. The three matches are scheduled to be played on July 20, 22, and 24 at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka.

Big Names Missing from The 15-Member Squad

To the surprise of many fans, some of Pakistan’s top players have not been included in the squad. Star batter Babar Azam, along with Mohammad Rizwan and pace spearhead Shaheen Shah Afridi, have all been rested for this series.

In addition, Haris Rauf, another key fast bowler, is unavailable due to a hamstring injury he picked up while playing in the 2025 Major League Cricket (MLC) in the United States.

Moreover, Shadab Khan is recovering from a shoulder surgery and will be out of action for about three months. Other fast bowlers like Naseem Shah and Mohammad Wasim Jr. are still on the road to recovery from previous injuries.

On a more positive note, Mohammad Nawaz, an experienced all-rounder, returns to the squad after being out since January 2024. Also returning is left-arm spinner Sufiyan Muqeem, who has impressed in domestic competitions.

Meanwhile, young fast bowler Salman Mirza has received his first-ever call-up to the national team. Mohammad Abbas Afridi, who was previously sidelined due to injury, has also been recalled.

Interestingly, Mohammad Haris, who played a match-winning knock against Bangladesh in their last T20I series, keeps his place and is expected to bat at number three once again.

Salman Ali Agah Will Lead The New-Look Pakistan Side

The team will be captained by Salman Ali Agha, but no vice-captain has been named. The squad appears to be a mix of experienced players and emerging talent, giving Pakistan a chance to test their bench strength.

It’s worth noting that Pakistan recently defeated Bangladesh 3-0 in a T20I series held in Pakistan. Now, the action shifts to Dhaka. Before this series, Bangladesh is currently busy playing a three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka, followed by another T20I assignment before returning home.
