Australian pace spearhead Mitchell Starc is set to play his 100th Test match in the upcoming third and final Test against the West Indies in Kingston, Jamaica, starting Saturday, July 12. The left-arm fast bowler has had a remarkable journey, and this match marks another milestone in an illustrious career as he also closes in on 400 Test wickets

Far from Family, Starc Set for 100th Test in Kingston

Originally, Australia’s Caribbean tour was scheduled for just two Tests, but a late change has added a third match to the series. This late change of plans means Starc's special moment will take place in Kingston, miles away from his friends and family, rather than at home during the first Ashes Test of the upcoming Australian summer.

Morever, Starc’s wife and Australian Women’s team captain Alyssa Healy also said on the Willow Talk Podcast that she would not be able to be in Jamaica to witness the moment in person. Despite the distance, Healy expressed her pride in Starc’s achievements and also hopes he bags the five wickets he needs to reach 400 Test wickets in this memorable game.

“I do not think he [Starc] really minds where it is played. I want him to tick it off and get the 400 wickets, and then go to the Ashes as a legend,” Healy said on the Podcast.

Adding to the occasion, Starc will have his long-time teammates Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood, and Nathan Lyon by his side as always. The quartet has been the backbone of Australia’s bowling attack over the past decade, helping the team dominate world cricket across conditions.

As Starc prepares for this landmark appearance, fans and teammates alike will be hoping it ends with both personal and team success. He is set to become only the second fast bowler in Australian cricket history to reach 100 Tests, underscoring the pride and determination he has shown wearing the Baggy Green throughout his career.
