India young all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy is facing legal trouble just days after being ruled out of the Anderson-Tendulkar Test series. A talent management company named Square The One, based in Bengaluru and registered in Delhi, has filed a case against Reddy.
According to News18 CricketNext reports, the agency claims Reddy hasn’t paid them over ₹5 crore. As a result, they have taken the matter to the Delhi High Court. The hearing is scheduled for July 28, 2025. The case has been officially listed as M/s Square The One Pvt. Ltd. Through Its Director Sh. Shiv Dhawan Vs. Nitish Kumar Reddy.
PR Agency Alleges Contract Breach And Unpaid Dues
The agency had worked with Nitish Reddy for three years, helping manage his off-field matters like social media presence, sponsorships, and public relations. However, during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy last year, Reddy ended his partnership with them.
Since December, he has not appeared in any of the agency’s campaigns, which was unusual given his past involvement. The company says Nitish broke the terms of their agreement and still owes them money. Therefore, they have filed the petition under Section 11(6) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act. While Square The One’s director, Shiv Dhawan, confirmed the basic details, he chose not to comment further, saying the case is now in court.
So far, Reddy and his current team have not commented. News agencies have reached out to them and are waiting for a response.
Meanwhile, Reddy has been ruled out of the last two Tests against England due to a left knee injury. He had played in two of the first three matches of the series. He missed the opening Test at Leeds but got a spot in the playing XI for the second and third matches.
However, his performance was mixed. In Birmingham, he scored just 2 runs and didn’t take any wickets, though India still won comfortably.
In contrast, the 22-year-old did better in the Lord’s Test, taking key wickets of England’s openers in one over, and again dismissing Zak Crawley in the second innings. He also scored 30 and 13 runs with the bat. Still, India narrowly lost that match by 22 runs.
After that, due to his knee injury, Reddy was replaced by all-rounder Shardul Thakur for the fourth Test in Manchester.
