In the cricket world, the Kiwi stars never failed to showcase their brilliance as fans remained in awe of their talents. Among them, Doug Bracewell may not have had a long international run, but his domestic exploits spoke volumes about his talent. But his glorious career has come to an end as he announced his retirement from all formats of cricket.

A rib injury has been a massive blow for the all-rounder which kept him out of the cricket action for a long time now. Due to this, he was away from the domestic session for the Central Districts. In a heartfelt statement, Bracewell thanked everyone for the opportunities and support throughout his career.

“It's been a proud part of my life, and something I aspired to as a young cricketer. I will always be grateful for the opportunities I have had through cricket, and the chance to play for my country, as well as for Central Districts, throughout my domestic career. It's a privilege to play first-class and international cricket, and I'm grateful to have played and enjoyed the game for as long as I have,” he said in the statement.

In 2011, when New Zealand met Australia in Hobart, the all-rounder stunned the world with a magical figure of 9/60, and the Kiwis registered their first win in Australia in 26 years.

Apart from the longest format, he represented the Blackcaps in 41 white-ball encounters and secured 46 wickets. Adding to this, he also appeared in the franchise leagues like IPL and even in SA20.
