Ahead of the One-Day Internationals (ODI) against India, Australia called upon young spinner Sameer Khan as net-bowler. Khan included in Punjab's Under-19 probables list, has featured in the Punjab T20 League, claiming five wickets in seven matches.

The left-arm spinner displayed his full array of bowling prowess in the nets, earning high praise from none other than all-rounder Marcus Stoinis.

Khan, especially, got the better of Stoinis several times in the net session, who later acknowledged the 16-year-old saying, "Well bowled”.

As quoted by Inside Sport, speaking about his experience bowling to Stoinis, Khan stated that he only bowled lines that were natural to him.

Got Stoinis out a couple of times: Sameer Khan

“I got (Marcus) Stoinis leg-before a couple of times today. The coaches didn’t ask me to bowl any specific line but I bowled what came naturally to me. Unko peeche ke paer se khelne ko thodi dikkat ho raahi thi aur tez daala aur upar dala. Thoda phaas rahe thee (Stoinis was having some difficulty when he went on the back foot. I bowled fast and pitched it up).”

The youngster, who hails from Kapurthala, also bowled long sessions to prolific batter Steve Smith, who is making a return from an injury.

“Yesterday, I bowled for a lengthy period to Steve Smith. It was a great experience. Bahot accha laga. Unhone well bowled bhi kahaa (It felt nice bowling to the Aussies. Some of them even complimented me),”

The three-ODI series gets underway today, where both teams will lock horns at Mohali in the first encounter.
