National T20 Cup 2022, September 17th: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Northern emerge victorious

The last day of the league stage in Pakistan National T20 Cup 2022, saw Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Southern Punjab taking on Balochistan and Northern respectively, in two important fixtures in context of the Semi Final race on Saturday, September 17th. Let’s take a look at the recap of what transpired.
Match 29th: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa vs Balochistan
Sahibzada Farhan’s century sealed a Semi Final spot for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as the reigning champions defeated Balochistan in a must win final league match of their campaign by 38-runs in Pakistan National T20 Cup on Saturday afternoon at Multan Cricket Stadium.
Chasing a target of 176, Balochistan started the innings well but lost wickets at regular intervals. Haris Sohail did try to get his team back in the chase and had a 59 runs partnership with Ali Waqas for the fourth wicket. But Khalid Usman once again rose to the occasion for the men in black and dismissed both Waqas and Sohail within two overs. Usman finished with figures of 3 for 19 and Balochistan got all out for 137.
Earlier, after being asked to bat first, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa openers got off to a flying start, scoring 71 runs for the first wicket. Rehan Afridi departed for 34 off 25 but Sahibzada Farhan at the other end never stopped and went on to score the first century of his T20 career.
Pakhtunkhwa ended their innings at 175 for 3, which seemed enough to seal their Semi Final spot. Junaid Khan was the pick of the bowlers for Balochistan, taking 2 for 34 in his four overs quota.
