Cricket Namibia has named a 15-player Namibia men’s squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2026 in India and Sri Lanka. Senior all-rounder Gerhard Erasmus will continue to lead the side, and he will be accompanied by fellow seasoned pros Jan Frylinck, JJ Smit among others.
The Namibia cricket team, having first qualified for a T20 World Cup back in late-2021, will be making their fourth straight appearance in ICC’s global 20-overs showpiece event next month.
Namibia announces strong all-round T20 World Cup squad
Cricket Namibia has announced a strong and balanced all-rounders-ladened T20 World Cup 2026 squad for the Namibia cricket team. Set to be led by the charismatic Gerhard Erasmus, the Namibia team also includes fellow experienced all-rounders in the form of Jan Frylinck, JJ Smit, Jan Nicol Loftie-Eaton and others.
Zane Green will continue to serve as Namibia’s primary wicketkeeper-batter, and the board also named young Alexander Busing-Volschenk as a travelling reserve. Here is a look at the entire Namibia squad for the upcoming 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.

Gerhard Erasmus (c), Zane Green, Bernard Scholtz, Ruben Trumpelmann, JJ Smit, Jan Frylinck, Louren Steenkamp, Malan Kruger, Nicol Loftie-Eaton, Jack Brassell, Ben Shikongo, JC Balt, Dylan Leicher, WP Myburgh and Max Heingo.
Travelling reserve: Alexander Volschenk.
The Namibia cricket team qualified for the ICC T20 World Cup 2026 by finishing runners-up at the ICC T20 World Cup Africa Regional Final 2025 in Zimbabwe a couple of months ago.
They are now placed in Group A of the upcoming edition alongside Netherlands, USA, Pakistan and tournament co-hosts India.
Back during the T20 World Cup 2024 in the West Indies and the USA, the Namibia team notched up a solitary win, doing so against Oman in a thrilling Super-Over to finish fourth on the Group B points table.
