MS Dhoni Felicitated Ahead of His 200th Match As CSK's Captain

On the occasion of marking his 200th fixture as Chennai's captain, MS Dhoni has got felicitated by Chennai Super Kings' CEO and Managing Director N. Srinivasan ahead of IPL 2023 fixture against Rajasthan Royals at Chepauk.

The 41-year-old Dhoni has been synonymous with the Chennai franchise over the years, and thus been the city's favourite cricketing son.

Ahead of the toss of the clash against RR, Dhoni was handed a photo frame with a still of him in CSK's outfit and 13 medals on it, each of the medals denoting where CSK finished in each season of the IPL they featured in. 

At Chepauk, Dhoni was felicitated by the CSK CEO, his wife Chitra Srinivasan and TNCA head Rupa Gurunath.

Dhoni the batter has started the ongoing edition of the lucrative league on a high, playing sensational cameos against Gujarat and Lucknow, resulting in Chennai winning two of their first three fixtures this year.

Talking about the upcoming fixture, CSK are up against Rajasthan, who, just like Chennai, were beaten up in their last clash. Meanwhile, the home team has a better overall record against the Royals in the IPL.

In the last fixture between Chennai and Rajasthan, the latter got the better of the four-time champions, with former CSK lad Ravi Ashwin being the player of the match then. Interestingly, on Wednesday against the Super Kings, the veteran off-spinner will play his 300th T20 game.
