In recent news, the Jharkhand High Court issued a notice to MS Dhoni in response to allegations of business misconduct. The case, which has drawn significant attention, revolves around a dispute involving Aarka Sports and Management Ltd.
The notice was issued on Tuesday (November 12) after Dhoni's former business partners, Mihir Diwakar and Soumya Das, filed a legal complaint against him, and accused the cricket icon of alleged fraud.
Why Has Court Given Legal Notice To MS Dhoni?
Mihir Diwakar and Soumya Das, who serve as directors of Aarka Sports and Management Ltd., filed a case against Dhoni, alleging that he failed on agreements made during their partnership. The duo claimed that they had entered into an arrangement with MS Dhoni to open cricket academies under his name in various locations across the country.
According to the case filed, the directors blamed that MS Dhoni cheated them by not honouring his commitments. The petitioners have now moved the Jharkhand High Court and have challenged the step taken against them by a judicial magistrate court in Ranchi.
Meanwhile, Dhoni, on the other hand, has filed a criminal complaint against his former partners in January 2024. In his complaint, Dhoni accused the directors of continuing to exploit his name and reputation for business purposes without his consent.
According to the same report, the Jharkhand High Court, has directed Dhoni to appear before the court to explain his stance regarding the allegations. Sources familiar with the matter suggest that the high court’s notice to Dhoni signals a critical juncture in the dispute.
The court has also asked the Dhoni to provide a detailed explanation regarding the accusations against him and his own claims of unauthorised use of his name.
It is also important to note that MS Dhoni grabbed all the attention recently as he was retained as an uncapped player ahead of mega auction for IPL 2025.
