The ongoing tour of Test tour of Australia for Pakistan has been a nightmare, which started off with a wishful dream.

After a good showing in the tour match, Pakistan, who went into the three-match series, were handed drubbings in both the Perth and Melbourne encounters, which enabled Australia an unassailable 2-0 lead.

Ahead of the third and final Test, Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Zaka Ashraf and CEO Salman Naseer held a meeting with Team Pakistan on Saturday (December 30), where Director Mohammad Hafeez highlighted lack of acclimatisation as one of the reasons behind such poor outing.

As quoted by CricketPakistan, Hafeez stated to PCB officials that Pakistan should have traveled to Australia at least three weeks prior to the first Test, and also conducted an extended camp.

The former captain also asserted that domestic cricket should be improved upon.

Skipper Shah Masood, who is leading Pakistan for the first time, also presented his complaints to the board, stating how some players have stated about not receiving compensation for domestic matches, to which Naseer's response was that all dues have been cleared.

Both Ashraf and Naseer lauded Pakistan players for showing a spirited showing in the second Test that ended in under four days. PCB chairman will meet up with players during Australian Prime Minister's Dinner today.

Masood and Co. will look to deny Australia a series clean sweep and notch up their first-ever Test win in Australia since 1995 when both sides clash in the third and final contest on January 3 in Sydney.
