Mumbai Indians' latest recruit, Allah Ghazanfar, has been making the news as he has uplifted the standards of professionalism in cricket. Notably, the Afghanistan mystery spinner, who was bought by MI for 4.8 crores, played for two different teams in two successive days.
Notably, on November 29, Ghazanfar featured for the Afghanistan U-19 side in the ongoing Asia Cup 2024, where he took a solitary wicket against Bangladesh U-19. Meanwhile, a day later, on November 30, Ghazanfar made the headlines after he featured for Team Abu Dhabi in the ongoing Abu Dhabi T10 league.
Ghazanfar was unfazed and free of fatigue from his Under-19 Asia Cup match and performed for Abu Dhabi by taking a solitary wicket.
Allah Ghazanfar's Rise To Fame
Ghazanfar rose to fame during Afghanistan's series against South Africa earlier this year when he took three wickets in the first ODI to stun the Proteas. Further, he registered his career's best spell against Bangladesh in the first ODI and took a six-wicket haul.
Ghazanfar can also bat, which is why he is touted as the next 'Sunil Narine' of cricket. It is also one of the reasons why several IPL franchises went after Allah in the IPL auction, before Mumbai eventually availed his services for the upcoming season. It is worth noting that Ghazanfar was a part of KKR's squad in IPL 2024.
It is to be seen whether Ghazanfar will get game time in Mumbai Indians as he has done enough at the international stage to make a name for himself. Further, MI doesn't have any other spinner other than Mitchell Santner.
