The 2023-2025 WTC cycle is nearing its business end. The prestigious Test tournament is yet to get its finalists as several teams are in contention to reach the Final. Notably, Lord's will host the WTC final for the first time from June 11-15.
India, South Africa, and Australia are the three teams fighting for the top two spots, and things have spiced up following Proteas' spectacular win over Sri Lanka in the first Test.
South Africa, India, And Australia In Race To Reach WTC Final
According to the updated WTC table, India are on the top spot with 61.11 WTC, followed by South Africa (59.26), and then Australia (57.67). The Rohit Sharma-led side have four games left in their current WTC cycle, while the Proteas are left with just three and Australia with six games left to play.
For India to qualify for the WTC final as table toppers, they need to win all the remaining four matches Down Under. However, they would require Pakistan's help to finish at the top of the table.

South Africa Likely To Finish Above India
It is worth noting that India despite wins in all remaining Test games, can take their WTC PCT to a maximum of 69.30%. On the other hand, South Africa, who have three games, all at home, can take their PCT to 69.44% if they win the remaining three games and top the WTC table.
Meanwhile, they have one game left against Sri Lanka and then host Pakistan for two Test matches. Thus, if the Shan Masood-led side beat South Africa, it will be a help for the Indian team as then the Rohit Sharma-led side can finish above the Proteas and reach the finals as a table.
