Michael Slater rushed to hospital, charged for breaching bail

Responding to a welfare call, police authorities rushed to former Australian cricketer Michael Slater's home on July 14.

On arrival at Slater’s residence in the Sydney Northern Beaches area, authorities swiftly moved the right-handed batter to Northern Beaches Hospital, where he remained until Monday.

Upon his release, the police arrested Slater for breaching his bail order.

From there, he went to the local court, where Magistrate Megan Greenwood granted him a strict conditional bail.

The conditional bail was granted on the directive that the 52-year-old will not indulge in alcoholism or narcotics, while maintaining good behavior.

A report in The Telegraph states that Slater has been banned from contacting complainants who have filed multiple charges of violence against him.

In another case from 2021, Slater had charges against him dismissed on grounds of mental issues. The charges were related to domestic violence, where Magistrate Ross Hudson imposed a year of medication under a doctor’s supervision.

Mental Health issues

Over the past year, he has seen as many as five psychiatrists and has spent about 108 days in various mental health facilities.
