  • Dont Enjoy Too Much Off The Field Shoaib Akhtar Has An Advice For Hardik Pandya

'Don't enjoy too much off the field' - Shoaib Akhtar has an advice for Hardik Pandya

India’s white-ball tour to England comprising three One Day Internationals and as many T20Is was centred around the resurgence of Hardik Pandya, the bowler. Former Pakistan speedster Shoaib Akhtar seemed highly impressed with the all-round performance by the Indian star.

After being on a sabbatical for over five months due to injury concerns, Pandya made a comeback to the gentlemen’s game with IPL 2022. The all-rounder steered his franchise Gujarat Titans to their maiden IPL title.

Akhtar hails Pandya as a rare talent

Pandya continued his exceptional form in international cricket. The 28-year-old was adjudged the player of the series as India won the three-match ODI series against England 2-1.

Pandya picked up six wickets at an average of 12.33. The power-hitter also smacked 100 runs at an average of 50 and strike rate of 101.01.

Akhtar believes that Pandya has become more focused and mature in his professional life. The veteran also advised the Indian player to not let the success get to his head.

"He completes the team's balance. He got a good jolt, staying out of the team for about two years because of his fitness. He was casual about his life and is now better, he looks more focused and seems to be enjoying his life on the field. Don't enjoy too much off the field because he is a very rare talent," Akhtar said while speaking on his Youtube channel.

Pandya to become the best all-rounder in the cricket fraternity

Furthermore, the Pakistan stalwart backed Pandya to become the best all-rounder of the present era. Akhtar believes that Pandya is already a superstar and he has the ability to outshine others if he manages to stay grounded.

Pandya did well in the T20I series against England. In three games, he scored runs at an average of over 30 and a strike rate of 131.25. The 28-year-old was also the top Indian bowler with five wickets.

"India is huge and becoming a star of such a big country is a great responsibility. I am sure he will understand his responsibility and will focus on his game.

“He will get all kinds of fame, money, and respect so just stay focused Hardik Pandya. He is obviously a great batter. So I am sure that he will become one of the best all-rounders in the world. Just stay focussed,” Pakistan veteran added.
