Mayank Yadav, the young fast-bowling sensation has suffered another setback, after he injured himself in the game against MI, this time putting his participation for the rest of the season in doubt.

The match against MI was his comeback game after successfully recovering from the injury he suffered earlier in the tournament, but could not complete his quota of four overs and walked off the field while bowling his final over.

Mayank who has the ability to bowl over 150 KPH suffered a suspected abdominal strain while bowling against MI, and given his long history of injuries, it seems that he will not take any further part in IPL 2024.

However, amidst injury concerns, there is a good news as well for the 21-year-old fast bowler. According to the Times of India report, he is likely to get a fast-bowling contract alongside other talented pacers like Akash Deep and Umran Malik to name a few, which speaks a lot about the impression he made in the few matches he played for LSG in IPL 2024.

The contract will bring him under the supervision of National Cricket Academy's Sports Science and Medical team which will help BCCI manage young bowler's fitness in a more professional way.

The right-arm pacer made his debut against Punjab Kings and bagged a three-wicket haul which was followed by another stellar performance against RCB. He consistently clocked over 150 KPH and his fastest ball was delivered at 156.7 KPH, which earned him applause from all corners.
