Thunderbolt Mayank Yadav bowled Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) to yet another victory, this time flattening RCB’s famed batting line-up in match number 15 of the IPL 2024 season. The speedster picked up three key RCB wickets, including that of hard-hitting Australians Glenn Maxwell and Cameron Green in quick succession to ensure LSG seized a 28-run win at Bengaluru.

Playing only his second IPL game, the 21-year-old picked up his second ‘Player of the Match’ award to become the first cricketer in tournament history to do so.

Soon after Mayank’s second successive match-winning spectacle, fans rushed to X (formerly Twitter) and called for his inclusion in India’s T20 World Cup 2024 squad, set to be played in June this year.

Mayank Yadav shattered RCB’s batting line-up by dismissing Glenn Maxwell, Cameron Green and Rajat Patidar. The young fast bowler also conceded just 14 runs off his four overs, thus headlining LSG’s bowling charge to keep RCB down by 28 runs.

Being fittingly adjudged as ‘Player of the Match’ for the second time in succession this IPL 2024 season, fans soon took to social media and urged the selectors to include him in India’s T20 World Cup 2024 squad. Mayank Yadav, along with the rest of his teammates, will now turn up for the LSG in their subsequent IPL 2024 bout against Gujarat Titans. 

The much-awaited contest will be staged at Lucknow’s Ekana Cricket Stadium on April 7.
